2008 NanoDays

This year the University of Maryland’s Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC) is participating in NanoDays during the week of March 29 through April 6, 2008, and on April 26, 2008 at Maryland Day. NanoDays is a community-based educational outreach event organized by Nanoscale Information Science Education (NISE) Network to raise public awareness of nanoscale science and engineering in local communities across the U.S.

Wednesday, April 2, 2008

The MRSEC will bring NanoDays to partner school, Oxon Hill High School. Teachers and students will learn about nanoscience from interactive demonstrations and discussion, and participate in hands-on activities. MRSEC researchers will be there to share their nano knowledge and research.

Friday, April 4, 2008

The MRSEC will host a NanoDays Open House for local elementary and middle school students, and homeschool families. MRSEC researchers will present demonstrations and lead lab tours. The event will take place from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in the Chemistry Building, Room 1233. Please RSVP to mrsec@umd.edu.

Join the MRSEC for Maryland Day. MRSEC will be hosting a NanoDays event in the Physics Building. MRSEC will be sharing information about the outcomes of NanoDays week (March 29-April 6, 2008), as well as presentations of demonstrations, make-and-take activities, and MRSEC facilities tours.
