~ Advanced Materials & Nanotechnology ~
Charles Herbert Flowers High School

Dates:   June 23 - 27, 2008

For the summer of 2008, the MRSEC is partnering with Charles Herbert Flowers High School.

Welcome to the World of Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology! This camp is designed for students who want to learn more about advanced engineering and technologies, current research and development, and their applications. The course covers of topics in microelectronics and nanotechnology.

Topics:

  • Microelectronics
  • Nanoscale devices: materials and processing
  • Biomaterials
  • Liquid crystals
  • Fiber optics

Hands-on Activities:

  • Making nanomaterials and small scale devices
  • Electronic device testing
  • Engineering case study project

This camp will also include an invited speaker by a MRSEC engineering faculty member and a tour to an engineering laboratory.

Students eligible for this camp must be in the pre-engineering program Project Lead the Way at Flowers High School.
