~ Math for Physics Workshop ~

High School: Math Camp

Jump Start! This camp is designed for students entering high school physics with a desire to improve their math skills for science.

Camp Includes:

  • Instructors from distinguished and recognized GK-12 Teaching Fellows Program who are graduate students in math and physics at the University of Maryland
  • Activities that were developed using Prince Georges County Science and Math Guidelines
  • Activities that focus on:
    • Units and Measurement
    • Equation Solving
    • Graphing Skills
    • Graphing with Excel
    • Geometry
    • Trigonometry
  • Mainly hand-on and visual activities. Outdoor activities included!

Benefits:

  • Improve your math and science skills.
  • Get a head start on your fall physics class from this highly effective and applicable workshop.
  • An instructor from the workshop will be present in your child's physics class this fall and spring, working with the teachers, to re-emphasize concepts, strategies, and skills taught in the workshop.
