~ Web Development & Design ~
For Beginners
This camp is designed for students entering 8th, 9th, or 10th grade with a desire to learn how to develop and design their own website. No previous programming knowledge is required; in fact, if you have worked at all with HTML before, this camp is probably not for you.
In this camp, you will:
- Create your own website. This includes:
- Choosing a topic for your site
- Designing how the site will look.
- Programming the page, using only a simple text program, such as Notepad
- Learn HTML, the simple programming language used to create web pages.
- Become familiar with common internet and programming terms.
Benefits:
As computer skills become more and more important, you will be able to:
- Create club/team websites
- Start a web blog to share stories with your friends
- Post an online resume when you begin your job search
and much more! Possibilities are endless!
By learning HTML, you will be able to create websites without the use of special (and often expensive) software. Use any computer!
