The University of Maryland MRSEC grants ended in September 2013 after 17 years of successful operation. This site remains as a history of the center, but will not be actively maintained.

MRSEC expands its research impact by collaborating with many of the federal laboratories located within a 30-mile radius of the campus. The Laboratory for Physical Science (LPS) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) have especially strong ties with the University of Maryland in the area of materials science and technology development. In addition, industrial collaborations are important in expanding our research impact and opportunities for our studentsí professional development.

MRSEC collaborators include: Army Research Laboratory, Blue Wave Semiconductors, Brookhaven National Lab, CSCAMM, Lockheed Martin, Laboratory for Physical Science, Moscow State Steel and Alloys Institute, NASA, National Nanotechnology Lab, Neocera, NIST, Rowan University, Rutgers University, Seagate, Tokyo Tech, University of Cologne, University of Blaise Pascal, University of New South Wales, University of Tokyo, and University of Maryland.
